About

Meet Akshay — your mortgage broker in Melbourne.

One broker. Forty-plus lenders. A home loan handled the way you’d want it handled — personally.

Why MAV Home Finance exists

A home loan deserves a person, not a process.

We grew up watching our parents save for their first home. The deposit was a years-long project — the loan that came at the end of it shouldn’t have been the part that almost broke them. But it nearly did, because nobody explained it.

We started MAV Home Finance to change that experience for the next generation of Melbourne home buyers. As a mortgage broker, we get to be on your side of the table — not the bank’s. We work with 40+ lenders across Australia’s home loan market, which means we can find a loan that actually fits the way you live, not just the way the spreadsheet looks.

We’re an MFAA member, hold a Cert IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking and a Diploma in Finance & Mortgage Broking Management, and operate under an Australian Credit Licence. The acronyms matter because they mean we’re accountable — to you, to the regulator, and to the industry.

But here’s what matters more: when you call, we pick up. When you text at 9 PM the night before settlement, we answer. When you don’t understand something, we’ll explain it twice — and we’ll never make you feel silly for asking.

That’s MAV Home Finance. Quietly confident. Unmistakably personal.

“A home loan deserves a person, not a process.”— Akshay

Lender Panel

40+ lenders. One conversation.

We work with the big four banks, the second-tier banks, the credit unions, and the specialist non-banks. The right lender depends entirely on what you’re trying to do — buy your first home with 5% down, refinance with a complex income, fund land plus construction. Different lenders are good at different things, and that’s why a panel matters.

How we Work

From first chat to keys in your hand.

Four steps. The same care at each one.

Discover

15–30 minutes. We talk. We ask what you’re trying to do, what your numbers look like, and what would make this easier. No commitment, no documents needed yet.

Compare

A few days. We run the numbers across our lender panel and bring you the two or three best fits — with the trade-offs explained in plain English. You pick.

Apply

1–2 weeks. We prepare and submit the application. We chase the lender so you don’t have to. You’ll know exactly where things stand at every step.

Settle

Settlement day & beyond. We’re on the phone with the lender, the conveyancer, and you. After settlement, we check in annually to make sure your loan still fits.
